Put in at the 11 Mile Road site. There were nine kayakers today.
Temperature was in the low to mid 60's. Just about perfect.
The first of two fallen trees. All were able to get around or under it without too much trouble.
The second fallen tree. Had to cut a couple of branches to be able to get through. Just a slight slow down.
Lunch break. Landowner has signs posted allowing use of his property. Very nice gesture. We made sure to leave it like we found it.
Back on the river after a short break.
Takeout above the dam in downtown Rockford. A nice 8 mile paddle in three hours with good water levels and a strong current. A great start to a new kayak season.
Year to date: 15 miles paddled.
